Meet the Leaders

Hi! I’m Amber, Setting Manager at Toast & Tea Kings Worthy.

I began my Toast and Tea journey in September 2024 after graduating from Cardiff University with a degree in neuroscience. I quickly became immersed in the friendly and positive atmosphere across all the Toast and Tea settings.

I enjoy building meaningful connections with each of the children at Kings Worthy, ensuring that everyone feels valued and supported. My experience span various childcare roles, including working as a teaching assistant in ballet classes, and providing local babysitting services. I also work in a local care home, where I’ve developed effective communication techniques for connecting with individuals of all ages.

As a Setting Manager, I am one of the Designated Safeguarding Leads and am Paediatric First Aid trained. I particularly enjoy seeing each child’s creativity shine through during craft activities and supporting their individuality. I look forward to creating a fun and engaging atmosphere at Toast and Tea, ensuring that everyone leaves with a smile on their face.

Hi! I’m Amy, Setting Manager at Toast & Tea Kings Worthy.

I began my Toast and Tea journey in September 2024 and already feel totally immersed in the family that is Toast and Tea, with all the staff and children each bringing something unique and special to each of our settings.

My working background consists of a range of jobs, but for the most part it has been in childcare. Whether that be as a ballet class teaching assistant, a holiday camp group leader or a teaching assistant, and throughout all of those a nanny and babysitter to local families (one in Australia back in 2022!).

As a setting manager I am Paediatric First Aid trained and a Designated Safeguarding Lead. I am loving being a part of the Toast and Tea team, and I can wait to foster new relationships with the children in our care. I aim to bring my enthusiasm and loving nature to every session and ensure that the children feel safe, listened to and of course always leave with smiles on their faces!

Our Clubs

Breakfast Club

Our breakfast club begins at 7.30am. The children enjoy a nutritious breakfast, eaten together at around 8.00am. The children then put on high-vis vests and we walk them safely to school using our rope system.

After-school Club

Our after-school club begins at school collection time and finishes at 6.00pm. The children have a snack when the club begins, then later eat a hot meal together, typically at around 5.00pm.

If your child takes part in any school sports and activity clubs, they can join Toast & Tea after-school club once the club is finished. We will liaise with the school / club and make sure your child goes safely from their club to our setting.

Holiday Club

We run a holiday club at the Log Cabin on Stockbridge Road, Winchester, during school holidays and on most inset days. Visit the Holiday Club page of this website to find out more and to book your space.

Walking To & From School

Our Toast & Tea out-of-school setting is a short walk from the school, so parents are naturally keen to know how we get our children safely to and from school.

We provide high-vis vests for our children to wear all year round. You can’t miss a Toast & Tea child! We take a register before we leave for school in the morning and have a register for pick-up after-school, so we know we have all the children with us before we start walking. The children then walk slowly along the pavement together, all holding on to our safety rope at all times. There is always an adult at the front and back of the rope. We are often referred to as ‘The Walking Bus’!

This short walk is a great opportunity for us to keep talking to the children about safe road behaviour.

Food

Good nutrition is a vital part of a child’s day. We offer all our children a healthy, balanced breakfast before school and a hot meal at our after-school clubs. Our settings have facilities that allow us to prepare food freshly and hygienically. We also make sure children sit down together at tables to enjoy their food.

If your child has any special dietary requirements, preferences or food allergies we will ask for these on the registration form before they begin. We are able to cater for your child’s dietary needs and will adjust the food on offer where needed.

Our menu may alter slightly from week to week. Please find below an example of what Toast & Tea children can enjoy.

Requesting / Withdrawing a Space

New to Toast & Tea

We are always excited to welcome new children to Toast & Tea. If you would like to request a space for your child at Toast & Tea Kings Worthy, please download and complete our registration form.

Withdrawing Your Space

We also understand circumstances change. So, if your child is currently with us and you would like to cancel a space or withdraw completely, please send us an email to let us know the child’s name and which spaces you would like to cancel.

The notice period for withdrawing your place is one calendar month. Fees will be payable until the last session has been attended.

Reception Year Starters September 2024

Your child starting school for the first time is both an exciting and nerve-wracking moment! For many parents, we know working out how to smoothly balance school hours with working hours can be a big source of worry. That is, of course, exactly why Toast & Tea was set up, to give needed out-of-school support to families.

While school spaces are not officially confirmed until April, we are happy for you to register interest in advance.

If your child is starting school in September 2024 and you would like to book breakfast and/or after-school sessions at Toast & Tea Kings Worthy, please complete the registration form below and email it to us. We ask for a non-refundable deposit of £30 at the time of sending – this is the fairest way to ensure everyone registering has a genuine interest in the space, as we are often over-subscribed.

If your child starts with us, this £30 will be deducted from their first invoice.

In the event that, unfortunately, your child does not get a space at Kings Worthy Primary School, we will of course refund your deposit.

Fees & Financing
