Meet the Leaders
Hi! I’m Jess, Setting Manager at Toast & Tea Barton Farm Primary Academy.
I started my journey at Toast and Tea in 2021 when doing my degree in children’s psychology at the University of Winchester. I began full time at Barton Farm in May 2022 and became the mental health lead for the company and have loved being at the setting ever since!
I love getting to know all the amazing children and their families, getting messy in the tuff trays, singing, dancing, and as the children would say – I am super silly! I love the family feel that Toast and Tea provides not only for the children but for the staff too.
At Barton Farm we love to be outside, doing arts and crafts and I always encourage children to use their imagination. Whatever the children are doing or playing I love to get involved, even if it means I am always the one they put magic spells on! There is never a day I do not go home with a smile on my face, and I am always looking for new ideas and inspiration to bring to the setting.
I have never worked in a place as amazing as Toast and Tea. We provide a safe, nurturing environment where the children can relax and have fun with their friends. It’s not often said, but I truly love my job, and I look forward to continuing my journey with the children and families at Barton Farm!
Hi! I’m Rachel, Setting Manager at Toast & Tea Barton Farm Primary Academy.
I am a mum to two daughters, Beth and Lyra, and I initially joined the Toast and Tea family in 2019 after training to be a Counselling Psychologist and Relax Kids Coach. In 2020 I opened and managed the Kings Worthy setting, and I returned from maternity leave in 2023 to come back to the welcoming arms of all children and staff! Oh how I have missed you all so much!
I love getting to know all the amazing children; being creative with them, using our imaginations and getting super messy in the tuff tray! My favourite part is spending time talking with the children over snack and dinner, discussing anything and everything and listening to each others’ stories. For me, this ‘family-style’ ethos, where all staff and children spend time playing, talking and creating together, is what makes Toast and Tea so special.
As a setting manager, I am Paediatric First Aid trained and one of the Designated Safeguarding Leads. I adore my job, and at the heart of what I do is the wellbeing of all children – I strive to work with them to create a setting that they love to attend!

After-school Club
Our after-school sessions begins at school collection time and finish at 6.00pm. The children have a snack when the club begins, then later eat a hot meal together, typically at around 4:30pm.
If your child takes part in any school sports and activity clubs, they can join Toast & Tea after-school sessions once the club is finished. We will liaise with the school / club and make sure your child goes safely from them to us.

We run a holiday club at the Log Cabin on Stockbridge Road, Winchester, during school holidays. Visit the Holiday Club page of this website to find out more and to book your space.

Food
Good nutrition is a vital part of a child’s day. We offer all our children a hot meal at our after-school clubs. Our settings have facilities that allow us to prepare food freshly and hygienically. We also make sure children sit down together at tables to enjoy their food.
If your child has any special dietary requirements, preferences or food allergies we will ask for these on the registration form before they begin. We are able to cater for your child’s dietary needs and will adjust the food on offer where needed.
Our menu may alter slightly from week to week. Please find below an example of what Toast & Tea children can enjoy.
Requesting / Withdrawing a Space for Current Attendees of Barton Farm
AT THIS TIME WE ARE FULL WITH A WAITLIST FOR MOST SESSIONS
We are always excited to welcome new children. If you would like to request a space for your child at Toast & Tea Barton Farm, please download and complete our registration form. These can be returned to us via email.
Withdrawing Your Space
We also understand circumstances change. So, if your child is currently with us and you would like to cancel a space or withdraw completely, please send us an email to confirm. Let us know the child’s name and which spaces you would like to cancel.
The notice period for withdrawing your place is one calendar month. Fees will be payable until the last session has been attended.
Reception Year Starters September 2025
Your child starting school for the first time is an exciting and nerve-wracking moment! We know working out how to smoothly balance school hours with working hours can be a big source of worry. That is, of course, exactly why Toast & Tea was set up, to give needed out-of-school support to families.
While school spaces are not officially confirmed until April, we are happy for you send us an email to register interest in advance. In this email please let us know the full name of your child/children, and what days or sessions you are looking for them to attend.
Please note, registering interest does not guarantee your child/children a space; spaces are very limited and allocated with priority given to current children, then siblings of current children, and then in order of the children requiring the most amount of sessions across the week.
On, or shortly after school placement day, we will email you to ask for confirmation as to whether your child/children has secured a place at Barton Farm, and double check the sessions you have requested. We will then offer out spaces available, and a non-refundable deposit of £30 will be requested at this stage to secure the sessions. This is the fairest way to ensure everyone registering has a genuine interest in the space, as we are often over-subscribed.
If your child starts with us, this £30 will be deducted from their first invoice.
Fees & Financing
Our morning breakfast club is £8 per session. This includes a nutritious breakfast (such as cereals, croissants, crumpets, waffles and/or pancakes), and a range of activities for your child to get the best start to the morning.
Our afternoon clubs are £13 per session. This includes snacks, a hot meal and a range of activities, including time to reflect on the day with an adult.
Fees are payable monthly in advance, with a £30 deposit payable with the registration form. We do accept childcare vouchers. Your voucher provider will want to know our Ofsted number, which is 2607487.
